Stormcloud coaster

“This simple pinwheel coaster, easily knit in an evening, makes a beautiful resting spot for a mug of warm tea on a rainy night.
The shape is inspired by the storm clouds in Jane Austen’s Classic Sense and Sensibility, which serve as an important character in the story, propelling Marianne, inadvertedly, towards Captain Brandon.”
I knitted this coaster in an afternoon, it was fun to do, but not too easy for me.
The pattern, by Anne Vally, I bought on Ravelry, here.
The yarn is a merino  : Koigu Painter’s Palette Premium, I purchased at wonderful Loop London.
This yarn is super soft and nice to work with. I adore the colours !

And the leaves that are green...

This long and narrow scarf is the life cycle scarf by Alana Dakos. The pattern is published in her book "Botanical knits 2". I couldn't find the yarn that was suggested, so instead I used Malabrigo sock yarn (superwash merino). I purchased this yarn in 2016 in Social Fabric in Totnes, another local yarn shop that seems to have closed, so sad...
The lacy stitch pattern made this an interesting knit. After blocking the scarf, the leaf pattern became very beautifully visible. I am happy with it!

Donkey kong

In the thrift shop I found this adorable donkey for 0,30 euros. I know, it is very kitschy, but he looked at me in such a miserable way, I just had to adopt him... And I made him into my very own unique and loyal pincushion. He has become essential in my craftspace!

Boom !

This very colourful shawl was such a joy to make. It was my first asymmetrical shawl and I found it an exciting knitting experience. The pattern is Boom!, by Playing With Fiber. It is a free pattern on Ravelry, you can download it here.
This was my travelknit during the holidays and perfect to work on whilst watching nice christmassy British TV.
I used Sirdar Colourwheel (a nice feeling wool-acrylic blend), purchased at Sew Creative in Cambridge. This is mainly a fabric shop that also sells a range of more common yarns. I usually prefer, where possible, indie yarns, but I made an exception here because I loved the colours sooo much ! the wooden box is handmade by my father-in-law and it is a perfect project-box!
